I saw RATT on June
28th, 1997 and they kicked a hell of a lot more ass than I had given them credit
for. My friends Woody, Joey, Jenn and I had gone out to Sanford to see the
RATT/ Hair of the Dog show at the Tsunami Beach Club (nice place, gone now). I
thought they rocked, but Joey was all pissed off that Steven didn't look down at
us once. I mean, c'mon, we were front and dead center! And compared to past
RATT shows they had seen, Steven might as well have been unconscious. He just
basically stood there and sang a few ditties..... Unfortunately, a few shows
after that, Steven Pearcy reportedly fell 12ft seriously injuring his knee. The
tour was postponed and now Steven is without a knee cap and went through
personal therapy. Sucks..... but he recovered.
I went and saw them
again on November 29th at the House of Blues inside Downtown Disney. Steven
made a miraculous recovery! He performed 10 times better than the show 5 months
prior. Who would have thought?
Since those days,
Steven and Ratt have parted ways. Ratt was still Ratt, and Steven Pearcy kept
performing Ratt songs on his tour. Well, the Ratt boys didn't like (with good
reason) that so there are currently some major lawsuits in action right now.
Sorry, Steven. What goes around comes around.
