Welcome to the first issue of the D1G1TAL GLAM newsletter. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with this service on a regular basis; I'm shooting for once a month. You are receiving this newsletter because your email address has been collected from a Guest Book on a site maintained by Digital Glam Productions (either ROK-U, now Digital Glam or Hair of the Dog). If you do not wish to receive this newsletter, please note the REMOVE email link at the bottom of this page.

The Rhode Island Incident-
Well, it's been all over
the news for the past two weeks now and it most likely won't be
over for a long time. The fire that broke out in a small
Rhode Island club sadly killed [last reported] a total of 97
people. Two of those people that Digital Glam would like to
remember are Jeff Rader and Ty Longley.
I read a
tribute to Jeff Rader the other night and it moved me enough
to feel the need to write to its author. He was in the club
when the fire broke out and was even seen on the video footage
outside the building while the fire was in full force.
Apparently this good soul went back into the inferno to find his
girlfriend who was still inside. He never came back out...
After reading his tribute, Jeff seemed like the kind of friend
that a person can only hope to have during their lifetime.
I'm sure there are a ton of lives that Jeff has touched who will
truly deeply miss him. Tesla has set up
The Jeff
Rader Family Fund to help out the Rader family out in their
time of sadness.
Ty Longley
was the guitar player in Jack Russell's Great White. They
were recently here in Orlando and because of work, I did not get
the opportunity to see Ty play. Now the company I worked for
has gone out of business and I'll never see Ty play again.
He was a brilliant guitarist. His fiancé, Heidi, is with
child and things were looking great for the two of them. The
only thing that upsets me more than this are the ignorant morons
who feel they must post cruel and hurtful messages on the Ty
Longley guestbook. If you would like to make a donation to
Baby Longley, you can find the information here.
March Band of the Month
LA GUNS
LA Guns
is one of my favorite bands...ever. Originally formed in 1983,
after many many many lineup changes, the gunners finally broke
through in 1988 with their self-titled first album. Since
then, they've released 13 albums and 6 EPs
with (I think) a total of seven different singers. Well Phil
Lewis is back and their most recent release,
Waking the Dead, is just simply amazing. And believe
it or not folks, WTD just came out in late 2002. Whoever
said rock is dead apparently forgot to tell LA Guns. I
bought the disc the day it came out and it stayed in the car for
about 4 months on repeat. With songs like "Revolution,"
"Lost In the City of Angels" and the 9/11 tribute "OK, Let's Roll"
this is definitely one of their best discs to date. I mean
the first time I sat down with the words to "OK, Let's Roll," I
kid you not... GOOSEBUMPS! To the members of LA Guns,
past and present, I thank you. You've given my ears nothing
but candy.
